To protect against this, we have refined our decisioning mechanisms for device takeover, leading to a 20% increase in accuracy for detecting these attempts — and ensuring your customers’ accounts remain safe.
New Capabilities to Detect GenAI Agents
GenAI agents, such as bots, are becoming more and more mainstream, and now are starting to make legitimate purchases and interact on behalf of human customers. We’ve rolled out new capabilities to detect and tag online activity associated with GenAI agents in our platform so you can be informed and know when a GenAI agent is genuine or malicious.
Improved Detection of Connection Manipulation
Bad actors have a playbook, and it usually involves connection manipulation techniques, such as proxies and VPNs. We’ve developed new and additional technical capabilities that have enhanced our identification of these connection manipulation strategies and tools by 15%.

Predictive Payment Routing (Beta)
Maximizing authorization rates while reducing payment costs is the best of both worlds for your revenue forecast. For years, Forter’s Payment Optimization solution has empowered businesses to customize payment authentication based on user risk and issuer preferences to drive higher authorizations. Now, we’re excited to expand these capabilities with the beta launch of Predictive Payment Routing, which identifies the best payment route for every transaction. Using identity intelligence and AI, Predictive Payment Routing will dynamically recommend the best processor, choose the most effective card network, and select when to use network tokens in real-time.
However, you remain in the driver’s seat with the ability to input payment strategies into the model, as needed. For example, applying customized logic to specific transaction volumes or adding processor-related business strategies.
Japan 3DS Optimization
In April 2025, the Japan Credit Association (JCA)’s 3D Secure mandate goes into effect. This additional security measure comes with some conversion risks. Forter’s new Japan 3DS Optimization solution maximizes conversions while ensuring compliance by factoring in regulatory requirements, as well as consumer, acquirer, and issuer preferences. This solution enables merchants handling Japanese transactions to meet requirements while providing a seamless customer experience.
Intelligent Vault Management
Maintaining an updated payment card vault can be costly — especially if stored customers do not return to make a purchase. But it’s essential for maintaining a smooth checkout experience and reducing failed payments, involuntary churn, and lost recurring revenue.
To solve this dilemma, we’re introducing Intelligent Vault Management. This solution automates card vault updates and reduces your refresh costs. By leveraging our network, Forter can view exactly when cards require an update, and you can benefit from updated cards within Forter’s network. Additionally, we offer a real-time updater that only updates cards when there is buyer intent. Together, these features minimize cost while maximizing value.
AI-Powered Customer Insights

Roles & Permissions
Different team members need access to different sensitive information within the Forter Portal. That’s why we’re enhancing our roles and permissions features — so you get greater control and flexibility over who sees what. This update, which will be rolling out over the next month, gives you increased capabilities to customize user access and interactions within the portal, ensuring each user only accesses the most relevant information to them.
Updated Chargeback Recoveries Reporting
Understanding the performance of chargeback disputes is notoriously tricky due to fragmented data and lengthy processes. Today, we’re making it easier than ever with our refreshed chargeback recoveries dashboard. This easy-to-read dashboard gives you greater visibility into your chargeback representments and provides essential insights on win rate performance, allowing you to better understand performance, access key insights, and better protect your bottom line.

Reseller and Reshipper Controls
We’ve added reseller and reshipper likelihood attributes to restrict resellers and reshippers from purchasing high-demand products. This ensures your most coveted inventory goes to genuine customers, creating a better buying experience.
Return Ratios
We’re introducing return ratios to personalize returns policy applications. This metric assesses a customer’s post-purchase behavior, allowing you to make holistic returns decisions rather than rely on arbitrary dollar limits — preventing chronic returns abuse while maintaining customer profitability
Promotion Stacking Prevention
Promotion stacking is a frequent challenge, increasingly leading to negative margin transactions that hurt your revenue stream. To combat and prevent this, you can now send us multiple promotions and discount codes along with your cart data. Forter’s Trust Platform will then analyze all applied promotions, calculate the total discount on an order, and ensure the transaction stays within your set thresholds — preventing excessive promo abuse that leads to long-term profit loss.
